    - 4th and 5th year LL.B. students
    - Students must have studied International law, contract law and environmental law
    - Full attendance is mandatory
    - Maximum: 30 students

Day 1: History of nuclear energy; institutions and law and nuclear energy and environmental law


(9:00 AM to 11:00AM)

    - Overview of nuclear science and technology- nuclear energy programs-military to civil energy program; allied applications of nuclear and its progress
    - India’s nuclear energy program, governance structure and Indian atomic legislation

(11:30 AM to 1:00PM)

    - Evolution of nuclear energy law
    - International institutions; groupings and agreements
    - The NPT and IAEA safeguards

(2:00PM to 3:30 PM)

    - Nuclear energy and Environmental protection – international environmental law- state responsibility, issues of sovereignty, ILC work
    - National environmental law and nuclear energy, EIAs

    - Early Notification and Assistance Conventions (Emergency Conventions)
    - Convention on Nuclear Safety
    - Nuclear regulatory regime, AERB-safety codes, IAEA code

(11:30 PM to 1:00 PM)

    - The international nuclear liability regime
    - The Indian Nuclear Liability law and rules

(2:00 PM to 3:30 PM)

    - The Physical Protection Convention and Illicit trafficking
    - Terrorism Convention
