Fellow's Program

NLA through its Fellow’s Program, seeks to undertake original research in nuclear law. NLA Fellows Program is a program designed for young legal professionals from India. Professionals who are currently working on a project, or initiating a new work in respect to nuclear legal and policy issues are eligible to be considered under this fellowship.

The proposed work must contribute to the new critical developments in nuclear law. Only one fellowship is awarded a year and the awardee is called the "NLA Fellow".

A selection panel appointed by the Governing Board will review candidate’s application, references and the description of the proposed work. The candidates may also be asked to make a short presentation before the selection panel.


The NLA Fellows shall undertake a self-designed project independent of NLA’s interest. The fellowship program is for 8 months. NLA Fellow is expected to submit a report that is of internationally publishable quality, which will be defended during the annual conference of NLA. NLA shall get the work peer reviewed.

‘NLA Fellow’ shall receive a monthly stipend. Travel expenses to attend the  Annual Conference will be borne by NLA. The work undertaken by Fellows shall be the exclusive property of NLA, but shall have the name of the Fellow in all the publication.
