About Conference One of the main aims of NLA is to engage stakeholders relating to the peaceful use of nuclear energy. The first annual conference will be a confluence of the legal community, policy makers, industry, civil society, and non-governmental organizations. The purpose is to discuss the role of law and legal institutions in India with respect to nuclear energy development. All papers must focus on law relating to the nuclear energy sector and its implications for India. Critical and comparative analysis of process and law is encouraged. The papers must be submitted under identified themes. The sub-themes are mentioned by way of example only. Interested participants are requested to send an abstract of not more than 300 words to the Secretary, NLA. All accepted papers will be peer reviewed. Themes I. Nuclear Polity, Law and Governance

To this end, the NLA is organizing a debate for law students. The Nuclear Law Parliamentary Debate, 2012 As part of the main student event for the 1st Annual Conference, the First Nuclear Law Parliamentary Debate is being organized by the NLA in collaboration with the Jindal Global Law School (http://www.jgls.org/). Prestigious universities from across India are expected to participate in the event. Dates: February 15th - 17th, 2012 Venue: Jindal Global Law School, Sonipat Logistics All participants would be provided with accommodation and meals for the duration of the competition at the campus of the Jindal Global Law School.
